Time Management Techniques That Everyone Needs to Have.

Time management should be used to create a better and easier way of life. The goal of time management is to free up time so you have the time to do the things you enjoy doing. Goal setting is important to time management. You should write your goals on a piece of paper. You should have two lists of goals, short-term and long-term. You should understand that time management is not doing more in less time. It is about doing the right things better. If you have to write articles and you hate doing it, STOP!!! Find someone who will do it and hire them to write the articles. Now use the time to do something productive and of greater value.

Here are two questions to ask yourself that will save you a lot of time.
  1. Is it what I need to be doing today?
  2. Do I want to do it today?
If you answer no to both questions, stop. You are just wasting time.

If you are doing something for your family, boss, or friend it is external motivation. If you are doing something for you it is internal motivation. If it is external motivation you are less likely to do it. If it is internal motivation you are more likely to do it. Procrastination is a real killer of motivation. The two most common reasons for procrastinating are waiting for the right mood and waiting for the right time.

Planning your daily tasks is another time-management technique; so is planning your schedule. In managing your daily tasks, the important thing to do is to categorize the tasks, into urgent and important. In planning your schedule, you must build in flexibility.

Are you an AM or PM person? My advice to you is use the most productive part of the day to work on your priorities and hardest assignments. They will seem a lot easier and you will get done faster. This is another step to effective time management.
